I started writing Making a Pearl from the Grit of Life two years before my Lyme diagnosis. I finished it almost a year into treatment. It is an autobiographical perspective of how to take the negative events that happen in one’s life and turn them into a foundation for positive change. I had no idea when I started the book how much opportunity I would have to put into practice the principles I had discussed in the book.

God has carried me many times. When I went through my divorce he not only carried me but ended up giving me a man that loves and cares for deeply. I have blessed after going through hell.
I know that my positive outlook has been a major part of my healing. From the very first day my doctor told me that my attitude was going to guarantee that I would become healthy again.
I've stuck with that through it all and channeled all my emotions for Lyme into something positive. Lymenaide, the PSAs, the celeb press kits and the Lymenaide Holiday Bazaar are all part of my keeping an eye on the positive.
Its great to see you have been able to find so much positive in such a difficult time of your life.
I'm really trying to stay positive throughout my dad's struggle to get better. It has been tough on my family but I think we've grown closer because of it.
A positive outlook is essential to regaining health and leading a happy life.
